News: Driver, 81, killed in collision with truck on State Road 52

PASCO COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Pasco County that killed an elderly driver.

Pasco News Online reports the incident happened Feb. 10 in the vicinity of State Road 52 and Little Road.  According to the FHP, the driver of a Jeep Cherokee was heading east on SR-52 at about 12:08 p.m. when he tried to make a left turn into the entrance of a plaza.

The Jeep entered the path of a single-unit commercial truck going west and the truck crashed into the Jeep, causing it to rotate and flip.

The Jeep driver, an 81-year-old man from Hudson, died after being rushed to an area hospital.  The truck driver, a 62-year-old man from Apollo Beach, was not injured.
