GAINESVILLE, FL – Police in Gainesville said a vehicle and a motorcycle were involved in a fatal collision last week.
The Gainesville Sun reports the incident happened in the area of Southwest 13th Street and Southwest 14th Street Tuesday night at about 11:30 p.m.
An investigation by the Gainesville Police Department found that a vehicle was heading north on Southwest 13th Street and attempted a left hand turn. The vehicle entered the path of a southbound motorcycle, which hit the back of the vehicle. The motorcyclist was ejected and the bike caught fire.
The motorcycle rider, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. The crash scene was shut down to traffic for the crash investigation.
