SUMTER COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal accident on Interstate 75 in Sumter County Wednesday afternoon, according to WTSP.
The incident took place on I-75 near Sumter County Road 48 in Bushnell, where state troopers arrived shortly after 11 a.m. The FHP reported that one person was killed when a dump truck crashed into a guardrail at mile marker 314..
The southbound lanes and one northbound lane of I-75 were shut down along a two-mile portion of the roadway, causing traffic delays through the area.
