CITRUS COUNTY, FL – A motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a Citrus County Sheriff’s Office vehicle on Wednesday morning, according to the Citrus County Chronicle.

The rider was part of an escort brigade for the traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall Procession.  The incident happened as the brigade was heading towards a Harley Davidson facility on U.S. 19/98 in Homosassa Springs.

The sheriff’s office said that as the escort reached West Homosassa Trail in Lecanto at about 9:45 a.m., one of the motorcyclists hit a Public Service Officer vehicle with the sheriff’s office.

ODESSA, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a man riding a motorcycle was killed in a collision in Pasco County on Tuesday night.

The Tampa Free Press reports the incident occurred at the intersection of State Road 54 and Fencepost Drive at about 9 p.m.

The FHP’s investigation determined that the operator of a Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading west on SR-54 when he stopped at Fencepost Drive for an oncoming fire truck that was responding to a service call.

LEESBURG, FL – Police in Leesburg said a motorcycle rider died following a collision with a car Saturday evening.

According to a WKMG report, the crash happened in the vicinity of U.S. Highway 441 and Tomato Hill Road.  Investigators determined that the driver of a 2020 Honda Fit, an 88-year-old Fruitland Park woman, was exiting from a gas station onto U.S. 441 at about 6 p.m.  She crashed into a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle heading south on the highway.

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead after being taken to UF Health-Leesburg.  He was identified as 65-year-old William Clough of Tavares.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol released details of a collision on Sunday that claimed the life of a motorcycle rider.

According to the Tampa Free Press, the crash happened at the intersection of State Road 56 and Oxbow Boulevard.  State troopers say a motorcyclist was going west on SR-56 at a high rate of speed at about 5:35 p.m.

The driver of a Ford pickup truck made a left turn onto SR-56 from Oxbow and the pickup was hit by the motorcycle.  The bike then went up in flames.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – A car and a motorcycle were involved in a deadly crash in Pasco County on Wednesday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to a report by Pasco News Online, the incident took place in the vicinity of 23rd Street and 8th Avenue in Zephyrhills.  The FHP’s investigation determined that the driver of a Chevy Equinox, a 77-year-old Zephyrhills man, was heading south shortly before 3:30 p.m. and turned into the path of a northbound motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider was taken to an area hospital following the collision and was pronounced dead.  The victim was a 38-year-old man from Zephyrhills, state troopers said.

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Hernando County on Sunday afternoon, WTVT reports.

The Florida Highway Patrol stated that an 81-year-old Hudson man was driving a Kia Soul north on Cobblestone Drive at about 1:12 p.m. when he tried to cross the eastbound lanes of Spring Hill Drive to turn left and head west.

The Kia entered the path of a Kawasaki motorcycle going east on Spring Hill Drive and was struck by the bike.  The motorcyclist, a 30-year-old Spring Hill man, died after being taken to an area hospital.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a motorcyclist died following a collision with a parked vehicle in Pasco County, according to a report by WFLA.

The crash took place March 16 on Evergreen Court near Cummer Road in the area of the Cypress Manor residential community near Dade City.

The FHP said a man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle southbound at about 11:52 a.m. when he lost control of the bike and collided with a Toyota RAV4.  At the time the Toyota was not occupied and was parked near the residential community.

SPRING HILL, FL – State troopers said a motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Hernando County on Friday afternoon.

WTVT reports the victim was a 50-year-old man from Spring Hill who was riding a Suzuki motorcycle west on Spring Hill Drive at about 4 p.m.  The Florida Highway Patrol said a 55-year-old woman was driving a Chevy Colorado in the same direction and merged into the motorcyclist’s inside lane east of Godfrey Avenue.

The truck hit the motorcycle, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.  His name was not immediately released.

CITRUS COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV in Citrus County recently.

According to WTVT, the crash happened March 3 on US-19 near Cardinal Street shortly after 12:30 p.m.

An investigation by the FHP determined that a 70-year-old Lecanto man was driving a Kia Sorento when he exited onto US-19 from a private driveway.  The SUV entered the path of a Suzuki motorcycle headed north on the roadway.
