WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – Authorities are trying to locate the driver who struck and injured a teenage girl in Pasco County last Thursday morning, Pasco News Online reports.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 17-year-old victim was crossing the street on an electric scooter at Oldwoods Avenue and Tonka Terrace in Wesley Chapel when she was hit by a northbound sedan at about  7 a.m.

The driver reportedly did not stop at a posted stop sign prior to the collision  The girl, who was in a marked crosswalk at the time, was hospitalized with a broken arm.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a man was killed in a pedestrian accident in Pasco County last week.

WTVT reported details of the incident that occurred Feb. 20 on State Road 52 near Paradise Pointe Way.  According to the FHP, a 56-year-old man was walking across SR-52 at about 8:15 p.m. when he entered the path of a Dodge Ram pickup truck and was hit by the vehicle.

The victim, a Fort Myers resident, was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital.

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – A woman walking along Spring Hill Drive in Hernando County on Thursday night was fatally struck by a vehicle, state troopers said.

WTVT reports the accident happened east of Air Commerce Boulevard shortly after 7 p.m.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was walking in the travel lanes of the roadway when she was struck by a westbound Toyota RAV4.  The victim, a 46-year-old woman from Montandon, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.  The SUV driver, a 64-year-old Thonotosassa woman, was not injured.

The driver told authorities she did not see the pedestrian initially and then tried to avoid hitting her, but could not.  The FHP said Spring Hill Drive was dark at the time and also wet from recent rainfall.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – State troopers said a pedestrian accident in Pasco County Thursday night left a Port Richey man dead.

According to WTSP, the crash occurred at the intersection of Old County Road 54 and Erin Brook Drive.  The Florida Highway Patrol’s investigation found that the victim was walking in the middle of the intersection at 10:41 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound Dodge Charger driven by a 21-year-old New Port Richey man.

The 68-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not released.

PORT RICHEY, FL – A pedestrian accident claimed the life of a woman in Pasco County last week, police said.

Pasco News Online reported details of the crash that occurred early Christmas morning in the area of US 19 and Grand Boulevard in Port Richey.  Police responded to the scene after being notified of the incident shortly after midnight.

According to Port Richey Police, two women had left a bar in the area and were walking to a gas station at the intersection.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – A search is underway for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Pasco County on Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A report by WTSP stated that the victim was a 17-year-old boy in Wesley Chapel.  The FHP determined that the teen was crossing the road in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Chancey Road and Bellmeade Court just after 10 p.m. when he was hit by a Nissan Pathfinder whose driver failed to yield.

The boy was declared dead at the scene.  State troopers said the driver involved fled the scene without stopping to help.

CITRA, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred last month in Marion County.

A WCJB report stated that the incident occurred on US 301 near Citra on the evening of Nov. 29.

According to the FHP, a woman was in the southbound inside lane of the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle in the same lane.  She was then hit by multiple other vehicles.

LEESBURG, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in Lake County on Friday night, WKMG reports.

According to the FHP, the victim was a 47-year-old man who was trying to walk across County Road 44 near Rhett Road.  The pedestrian was struck at about 9:20 p.m. by a 2019 Chrysler 300 that was going east on CR-44.  The victim, a Leesburg resident whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Investigators said he was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision.

The driver and a passenger in the Chrysler were not injured, and stayed at the crash scene.  State troopers are continuing their investigation into the incident.

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in Hernando County Monday morning.

A report by the Hernando Sun states that the incident happened at the intersection of US-41 and Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill.  According to the FHP, a woman was walking eastbound across US-41 shortly before 7 a.m. when she entered the path of a northbound Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and was hit by the vehicle.

The woman, a 40-year-old St. Petersburg resident, died after being taken to an area hospital.  The pickup truck driver was a 25-year-old man from Brooksville.
