News: 14-year-old fatally struck by vehicles while crossing Lake County street

LAKE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run incident that killed a teenager in Lake County Thursday morning, reports WOFL.

State troopers said it happened in the area of County Road 455 near Willow Pines Lane, where a 14-year-old boy was waiting for a school bus at about 6:30 a.m. When the teen reportedly walked in front of a car, he was hit by the vehicle. The boy was thrown into a southbound lane of County Road 455, where he was struck by a pickup truck. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car that initially hit the teen left the scene but the car was located later. The FHP was reported to be speaking with the vehicle’s owner and is trying to find out who was driving at the time of the accident.

News: Woman struck, killed by vehicles on SW Archer Road in Alachua County

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a woman was killed in a pedestrian accident in Alachua County Friday morning.

According to WUFT, the incident took place on Southwest Archer Road near Southwest 63rd Boulevard at about 6:45 a.m. The FHP said the victim was walking across the eastbound lanes of the roadway against the light. A 51-year-old driver saw the woman, veered and slightly clipped her at a low speed.

The woman fell into traffic, where she was hit by a sedan driven by a 55-year-old woman who said she did not see the pedestrian. The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers stopped and waited for authorities to arrive.

News: Man standing in Ocala roadway struck, killed by vehicle

MARION COUNTY, FL – State troopers said a man was killed in a pedestrian accident in Marion County on Thursday morning.

WKMG reports the man was standing in the eastbound lane of Juniper Road near Juniper Pass Drive in Ocala at about 7 a.m. when he was hit by an approaching vehicle. It was not immediately clear why he was in the roadway.

The victim, a 63-year-old Ocala resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car that hit him, a 17-year-old male from Ocala, was not injured.

News: Pedestrian hospitalized after crash at construction site in North Miami

MIAMI, FL – A pedestrian was sent to the hospital after an SUV slammed into a construction site in North Miami on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a report by Local 10, the incident occurred some time after noon near the intersection of Northwest First Avenue and 11th Terrace, which is just south of I-310.

An unidentified male pedestrian was taken to an area hospital with a possible leg injury.

News: Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in Lauderdale Lakes

LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL – A pedestrian accident in Lauderdale Lakes on Sunday night claimed the life of a man.

According to a report by CNW, the victim was struck by a 1999 Toyota Camry while crossing NW 31st Avenue near NW 26th Street shortly after 9 p.m.

The unidentified man was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died a short time later. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

News: Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Pompano Beach

MIAMI, FL – A pedestrian was killed last week when they were hit by a vehicle while crossing the street in Pompano Beach last Thursday.

According to a report by CBS Miami, the unidentified victim was struck while walking in the area of West Atlantic Boulevard and Andrews Avenue at about 8:30 a.m.

The pedestrian was taken to Broward Health North, where he died early Friday.

News: 3-year-old struck and killed by vehicle on street in Brooksville

BROOKSVILLE, Fl — State troopers said a pedestrian accident in Brooksville Sunday morning claimed the life of a 3-year-old boy.

According to WTSP, the incident took place on Evening Star Avenue near Broad Street at about 8 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said that the boy and his parent were walking west across Evening Star Avenue when the child was hit by a southbound Lincoln Town Car towing a utility trailer. The victim was pronounced dead after being rushed to an area hospital.

Troopers said the vehicle came to a controlled stop following the incident. The driver was not injured.

News: Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle on NW 87th Ave.

MIAMI, FL – A man was killed when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street in northwest Miami earlier this month.

According to WPLG, the incident occurred on Wednesday, October 5th near the intersection of Northwest 87th Avenue and Seventh Street.

Troopers with Florida Highway Patrol say the victim, an unidentified Hispanic man, was attempting to cross the street when he was hit by a Toyota. He died at the scene a short time later.

News: Woman fatally struck by vehicle while crossing U.S. 19 in wheelchair

TARPON SPRINGS, FL – A woman in a wheelchair was fatally struck by a vehicle in Pinellas County Wednesday afternoon, police said.

According to WFLA, the accident happened in the 40300 block of U.S. 19 in Tarpon Springs, where police responded to the scene at about 12:30 p.m.

Investigators determined that the victim was crossing U.S. 19 from east to west in her motorized wheelchair when she was hit by a northbound Jeep. Bystanders attempted life-saving measures, but the woman was pronounced dead after being taken to Advent Health of North Pinellas.
