PASCO COUNTY, FL – A collision involving a motorcycle on State Road 54 in Pasco County left the rider dead, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A report by WFTS said the accident happened Saturday afternoon at the intersection with Vandine Road in Wesley Chapel.

The FHP’s investigation found that a 53-year-old Wesley Chapel man was driving a Nissan Rogue west on State Road 54 shortly after 3:30 p.m. when he made a U-turn and entered the path of an eastbound Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle.

The motorcycle crashed into the Rogue, and the motorcyclist, a 49-year-old man from Sneads, was pronounced dead at an area hospital.  There were no details on the condition of the other driver.
