News: 18-year-old driver killed when pickup truck crashes on U.S. 301

SUMTER COUNTY, FL – A wreck in Hernando County last week claimed the life of a teenage driver, the Villages-News reports.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the 18-year-old was driving a Ford F-250 pickup truck north on U.S. 301 Feb. 19 when the accident occurred just before 9 p.m.

The driver lost control of the vehicle on the wet roadway north of State Road 50, and the pickup overturned.  The driver, a man from Webster, was pronounced dead at the scene.
