PASCO COUNTY, FL – Five people were injured, two seriously, in a car wreck in Pasco County Saturday night.

A report by WFLA states that the incident occurred in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near San Antonio.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a sedan was changing lanes at high speed on I-75 at about 10:30 p.m. and lost control of the vehicle near mile marker 284.  The sedan rotated across the interstate, rear-ended another sedan, and then caught fire.  The second sedan overturned due to the impact.

Two male passengers in the first vehicle, ages 19 and 16, were seriously injured.  The 19-year-old male driver and a 20-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries.  All the occupants were from Jacksonville.

The driver of the second sedan, a 31-year-old Marianna man, suffered minor injuries.

The FHP is investigating the cause of the accident, which shut down the southbound lanes of I-75 for several hours.
