News: 8 injured in crash involving bus and pickup truck in Ridge Manor

RIDGE MANOR, FL – Eight people were injured in a crash involving a bus in Hernando County on Tuesday afternoon, local rescue officials said.

Hernando County Fire Rescue reported it was at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Cortez Boulevard and Treiman Boulevard in Ridge Manor.  Rescue crews arrived to find that a bus had collided with a pickup truck.

Multiple occupants of the bus were out walking around, and there were two severely injured occupants of the pickup truck, one of whom had to be extricated.

Eight people were taken to area hospitals, including one victim who was airlifted to a trauma center.  Motorists were advised that the intersection would be shut down for an extended time.
