News: 80-year-old motorcyclist dead after crashing into signs, tree in Lake County

LAKE COUNTY, FL – A motorcycle accident in Lake County on Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of an 80-year-old man, according to a WESH report.

The Florida Highway Patrol’s investigation found that the man was riding in the area of County Road 435 and Dubsdread Drive when he drove off the right side of the road at about 3:10 p.m.

The motorcycle crashed into two traffic signs and a tree, and the rider was ejected.  He was pronounced dead afater being taken to an area hospital.  The victim’s identity was not immediately released.

The FHP closed off the area to traffic while investigating the circumstances of the crash.
