HERNANDO, FL – An accident in Citrus County involving an all-terrain vehicle left one person dead and another injured, WTVT reported.
A 35-year-old man was driving the ATV in Hernando on Wednesday when the crash happened in the vicinity of North Pine Drive and East Kathy Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the ATV driver swerved to avoid crashing into a motorbike just after 1 p.m.
The ATV driver and his passenger, a 38-year-old woman, were ejected from their vehicle. The two were then struck by the motorbike, which was ridden by a 16-year-old boy.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the man was rushed to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The two were both from Belleview. The motorbike rider was not injured in the crash.
