PASCO COUNTY, FL – A multi-vehicle collision in Pasco County Wednesday morning left one of the drivers seriously injured, WTSP reports.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 at about 7:45 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said it began when the driver of a car changed lanes into the path of a semi-truck and was hit by the semi. The car then hit a vehicle that was stopped in traffic.
The semi-truck continued forward and hit a pickup truck and another semi that were also stopped in the traffic. The driver of the pickup truck, a 50-year-old Brooksville man, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
None of the other drivers involved were injured in the accident, which shut down the southbound lanes of I-75 for about three and a half hours.
