News: Child injured in school bus vs. sedan crash at Ocala intersection

MARION COUNTY, FL – A 12-year-old child was hurt Wednesday afternoon, January 22, in Ocala when the vehicle they were traveling in was rear-ended by a school bus, reports WCJB.

The incident occurred in the right-turn lane of Southwest 60th Avenue, prompting an emergency response shortly after 4:30 p.m.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said a 56-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a sedan and was stopped in the lane. At one point, the sedan was hit from the back by a school bus occupied by 26 students.

While none of the students aboard were reported hurt, a 12-year-old child who was a passenger in the sedan sustained minor injuries.

Officials did not immediately announce pending charges or citations.
