ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said an accident in Alachua County Tuesday night left one person dead and two others injured.

According to details reported by the Gainesville Sun, the crash took place on Interstate 75 northbound at mile marker 405 at 10:07 p.m.

The FHP’s investigation determined that a man was driving on I-75 when his car entered the median, hit a guardrail and went back onto the roadway.  It then crashed into a pickup truck.

The driver of the first vehicle, a 48-year-old man from Atlanta, Georgia, was killed in the wreck. The 68-year-old man driving the pickup and his passenger, a 50-year-old woman, both suffered minor injuries.  The two are from Indiana.
