News: Motorcyclist dies after being hit by car in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, FL – State troopers said a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Marion County on Monday afternoon.

A report by WKMG states that the collision occurred in the vicinity of County Road 484 and County Road 467.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcycle rider was headed east along County Road 484.  As he turned to make a left onto County Road 467 at about 2:10 p.m, the motorcycle entered the path of a westbound sedan and the vehicles collided.

The motorcycle rider, a 37-year-old man from Tampa, was pronounced dead after being rushed to an area hospital.

The driver and passenger in the sedan were not injured in the incident.
