BROOKSVILLE, FL – A multi-vehicle accident in Hernando County last week left a motorcyclist dead, reports The Hernando Sun.
The incident occurred Thursday in the area of U.S. 98 and Mondon Hill Road at about 5:24 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a pickup truck that was headed west on U.S. 98 failed to stop at a red light while approaching the intersection.

The motorcycle rider, a 34-year-old Brooksville man, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. His name was not immediately released.
The pickup truck driver, a 48-year-old Port Richey, Georgia man, and the driver of the sedan, a 52-year-old woman from Brooksville, were not injured in the crash.
