CITRA, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred last month in Marion County.
A WCJB report stated that the incident occurred on US 301 near Citra on the evening of Nov. 29.
According to the FHP, a woman was in the southbound inside lane of the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle in the same lane. She was then hit by multiple other vehicles.
Marion County Fire Rescue Crews arrived at about 6:41 p.m. to find that the woman had died at the scene. She was a 29-year-old Ormond Beach resident.
The highway was shut down for several hours while state troopers were conducting their investigation into the incident.
