MARION COUNTY, FL – One person was killed and several others were injured in a collision in Marion County last week, according to Villages-News.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a 75-year-old man was driving a Ford Edge west on County Road 42 Wednesday when the vehicle crashed into a Chevrolet Tahoe at about 6:10 p.m.
The Edge driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A 77-year-old female passenger was critically injured while another 57-year-old passenger was seriously injured, and both were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center. All three people in the Edge were residents of The Villages.
The driver of the Tahoe, a 28-year-old Paisley man, was hospitalized with critical injuries. Everyone involved in the wreck was wearing their seat belts, troopers said.
The incident left the Tahoe blocking County Road 42 in both directions.
