ORANGE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said it is searching for the driver involved in a crash in Orange County that left a motorcyclist dead.
According to WKMG, the incident occurred Thursday morning on State Road 520 near State Road 528 at about 5:20 a.m. The FHP said the driver of a BMW was headed west in an eastbound lane of State Road 520.
The car struck the front of a motorcycle and the rider was ejected from the bike. The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the car fled on foot after the crash and is now being sought by the FHP and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. The eastbound lanes of State Road 520 were shut down for several hours for the accident investigation. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
