ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a man died in a pedestrian accident while walking in Alachua County on Thursday night.

According to the Ocala News, the crash happened at the intersection of State Road 121 and SW 137th Avenue.  The FHP said the victim was trying to walk across State Road 121 at about 7:15 p.m. when he was hit by a sedan headed southbound.

The pedestrian, a 75-year-old Archer man, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the car, a 56-year-old woman from Morriston, was not injured.  No one else was in the car at the time.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – A motorcyclist died following a collision in Pasco County on Thursday afternoon, according to IONTB.com.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene in the area of Oakmont Boulevard and Anclote Boulevard after the incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m.

State troopers said an 83-year-old Tarpon Springs man was driving an SUV northbound on Oakmont Avenue and failed to yield at the intersection after a sedan stopped at Anclote Boulevard.  The SUV entered the intersection and went into the path of a westbound motorcycle, causing a collision.  The SUV then rotated and hit the sedan.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said one person was killed and another injured in a pickup truck accident in Pinellas County Thursday morning.

WWSB reported the wreck took place on a ramp connecting Interstate 75 to Interstate 275 at about 3:10 a.m.

State troopers said the driver of an eastbound pickup lost control of the vehicle while heading toward the ramp’s southbound entrance.  The truck rotated to the side of the road and flipped over multiple times.

SUMTER COUNTY, FL – A railroad accident along the tracks in Sumter County early Tuesday morning left a woman dead, WKMG reported.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened on County Road 475 at County Road 470 near Lake Panasoffkee at about 2:30 a.m.

State troopers said a Chrysler 200 was parked on the railroad tracks adjacent to County Road 475 with its lights off.  A CSX freight train going south was not able to stop in time and crashed into the car.

MARION COUNTY, FL – One person was killed and another injured in an ATV accident in Marion County Saturday night, according to WKMG.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the ATV crashed into a tree in the area of SW 72nd Circle and SW 148th Place Road shortly before 11:30 p.m.

The driver, a 32-year-old man from Dunnellon, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.  His passenger, a 48-year-old Dunnellon man, sustained minor injuries.

LAKE COUNTY, FL – A single-vehicle accident in Lake County over the weekend left two people dead, according to WKMG.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 24-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet Malibu north on County Road in the Umatilla area when the crash occurred.  According to the FHP, the woman lost control of the car and drove onto a shoulder of the road, where the vehicle hit a drainage ditch and overturned.  The Malibu then went airborne and overturned before ending up a wooded area.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle while her passenger, a 45-year-old man, was trapped in the car. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

ORANGE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run incident that killed a pedestrian in Orange County, WKMG reports.

The incident happened in the vicinity of 10th Street and Belvedere Road Feb. 5 at about 7 p.m.  The FHP said a man was believed to have been walking north on the west shoulder of 10th Street when he was struck by a southbound vehicle approaching Belvedere Road.

The 47-year-old victim was found on the shoulder by a bicyclist and was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.

HERNANDO, FL – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Hernando County on Sunday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to The Suncoast News, the accident happened on Mariner Boulevard near Little Street.

The FHP said a Ford F150 with a car trailer transporting a Saturn Vue was parked on the sidewalk next to Mariner Boulevard.  As the pedestrian was standing on the edge of the road helping to load and secure the Saturn, he was struck by a BMW that was headed north on Mariner Boulevard.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – Police said a motorcycle rider was killed in an accident in New Port Richey on Monday night, Patch reports.

The incident occurred as the man was riding his motorcycle south on U.S. 19 at about 8:12 p.m. Police said he lost control of the bike while traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed near Green Key Road.

The 39-year-old victim was pronounced dead after being transported to Bayonet Point Hospital.   During the course of the investigation, police said a woman driving a car drove onto a curb, went through police tape and ran over evidence from the motorcycle wreck.

OCALA, FL – Rescue crews were at the scene of a multi-vehicle accident in Ocala on Monday morning.

In a Facebook post, Ocala Fire Rescue said Engine 1, Rescue 1, Tower 1, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer were dispatched to the crash at N Pine Avenue and NW 10th Street at about 8:52 a.m.

The first responders found that a red pickup truck, a black sedan, a silver sedan, and a green sedan were all involved in the wreck, with the green sedan rolling over.  All of the occupants were able to get out of their vehicles and there were no significant injuries, rescue officials said.
