LEESBURG, FL – One person was injured after a crash in Lake County this past Monday, reports local media.
Emergency crews responded to a crash on County Road 468 to find an unidentified person entrapped in their vehicle.
Once they freed the victim, they were rushed to a local trauma center.
CRYSTAL RIVER, FL – A man on a motorcycle sustained serious injuries after crashing with a minivan in Crystal River Wednesday afternoon.
A 28-year-old man was riding a Suzuki GSX-R600 westbound on State Road 44 just west of North Pennsylvania Avenue. At the same time, a Lecanto man, 85, was traveling in a Dodge Grand Caravan westbound on State Road 44
The driver of the Dodge made a U-turn into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle’s operator slammed into the left side of the minivan, reports the Citrus County Chronicle.
CITRUS HILLS, FL – A driver and one child were injured following a crash between a car and a school bus in Citrus County Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Citrus County Chronicle, a man in a Toyota Venza ran a red light at County Road 486 and North Annapolis Avenue when he struck the left side of the school bus.
The man, a 33-year-old Hernando resident, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
FLORAL CITY, FL – One person sustained injuries after a fire in Citrus County on Saturday, reports the Citrus County Chronicle.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a 90-foot by 70-foot pole barn engulfed in flames off of East Haines Court. It took crews a little over two hours to extinguish the blaze.
The property owner said they noticed a fire had started around a flatbed truck with a 1,000-gallon diesel tank. A camper van and John Deer backhoe also caught fire.
HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – A 67-year-old died and two others were seriously injured after a crash on US Highway 19 Friday.
According to Sun Coast News, the collision happened at the intersection of US 19 and Happy Days Drive.
An SUV driven by an 18-year-old with a 67-year-old passenger, both from Weeki Wachee, was stopped at the intersection. A 25-year-old male from Crystal River was traveling in a sedan southbound on the highway when he turned into the path of the SUV, striking the vehicle.
OCALA, FL – Three people were taken to a hospital after being injured at an Ocala intersection Wednesday morning, reports Ocala-News.
Two SUVs collided at State Road 200 and SW 20th Street around 11:30 a.m. A driver in one of the SUVs and two occupants of the other were all taken to a local hospital with injuries.
The condition of those involved or what caused the crash is not clear at this time.
OCALA, FL – One person sustained injuries in a car crash involving two vehicles in Marion County Thursday afternoon.
According to WCJB, the collision was between two drivers in a Dodge pickup and a Mitsubishi SUV. One of the vehicles was T-boned in the crash.
The driver of the SUV was extracted from their vehicle and transported to an area hospital.
LAKE COUNTY, FL – A man driving a septic truck was killed when the vehicle overturned in Lake County Wednesday morning, reports News6.
The crash happened on County Road 48 near Ranch Road around 10:20 a.m. No other vehicles were involved.
The driver, a 58-year-old man from Groveland was pronounced dead at the scene.
PASCO COUNTY, FL – A man from Zephyrhills has died and a passenger was seriously injured after a motorcycle crash in Hudson Sunday evening.
According to The Free Press the 47-year-old man was operating a motorcycle with a 14-year-old girl as a passenger on US-19 near Bolton Avenue.
An 87-year-old Hudson man was driving a car northbound on the highway when they approached Bolton Avenue to make a U-turn. He drove into the path of the motorcycle and crashed into it as it was in the inside lanes of southbound US-19.
Two people were injured following a helicopter crash near the Miami Beach shore on Saturday, according to reports from the Miami Beach police.
The two passengers were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital where they were listed as in “stable” condition. There was apparently a third passenger in the helicopter who was not harmed.
The helicopter crash happened just after 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The helicopter landed in the Atlantic Ocean near 10th street in Miami Beach.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) did arrive at the crash site and closed off a two-block stretch of roadway between ninth and 11th streets, according to police.
The FAA said the helicopter involved in the crash was a Robinson R44. The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time, but the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will work together to investigate the cause of the crash and provide updates as they are available.
