OCALA, FL – A driver was injured in a rollover accident in southwest Ocala on Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Ocala Fire Rescue posted details of the incident on Facebook at about 12:15 p.m.  OFR’s Engine 4 and Rescue 4, Ocala Police Department, and Marion County Fire Rescue units responded to the scene on SW 38th Street and SW 60th Avenue.

According to the rescue squad, a driver was trying to avoid a collision at the intersection and the vehicle flipped, resulting in a shattered windshield, bent roof and front end damage.

OCALA, FL – Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident in Ocala early Wednesday morning, Ocala Fire Rescue said.

The rescue squad released a Facebook post with details of the incident that occurred at the 5500 block of West Highway 40.

Ocala Fire Rescue’s Engine 4, Rescue 1, Squad 7, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer were dispatched to the scene at about 6:12 a.m.  They arrived to find three pickup trucks blocking several lanes of traffic – a GNC Sierra that rolled over and was upright, a Ford F-150 with heavy front end damage, and a modified Ford Ranger with a black cab that sustained heavy front and rear damage.

OCALA, FL – A collision on Interstate 75 in Marion County Monday morning slowed traffic for rush-hour commuters, WCJB reports.

The crash occurred on I-75 near mile marker 352 at about 6:45 a.m.   It involved a Ford pickup truck and a semi-truck, and caused one person to be hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.

The wreck shut down all northbound lanes of I-75, resulting in major backups before the interstate reopened about three hours later.

OCALA, FL – Police and first responders were at the scene of a rollover accident in Ocala on Tuesday morning.

According to a Facebook post by Ocala Fire Rescue, Engine 4, Rescue 4, Squad 7, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer were dispatched to the scene at the 3900 block of W Silver Springs Boulevard shortly before 7 a.m.

They arrived to find a pickup truck on its roof, a sedan with moderate front-end damage, and the two drivers outside their vehicles.  The driver of the sedan was transported to a hospital for evaluation.  No one else was in the vehicles, and no other injuries were reported.

MARION COUNTY, FL – An accident involving a semitractor-trailer caused massive traffic delays on Interstate 75 in Marion County Tuesday morning, the Bradenton Herald reports.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Freightliner 18-wheeler with an oversized load struck an overpass on I-75 north at Southwest 66th Street/Williams Road near Ocala at about 9:19 a.m.

The driver, a 50-year-old man from Lakeland, was not injured.   The overpass and the northbound lanes of I-75 were shut down and traffic was backed up for miles in both directions.

OCALA, FL – Rescue crews were at the scene of a multi-vehicle accident in Ocala on Monday morning.

In a Facebook post, Ocala Fire Rescue said Engine 1, Rescue 1, Tower 1, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer were dispatched to the crash at N Pine Avenue and NW 10th Street at about 8:52 a.m.

The first responders found that a red pickup truck, a black sedan, a silver sedan, and a green sedan were all involved in the wreck, with the green sedan rolling over.  All of the occupants were able to get out of their vehicles and there were no significant injuries, rescue officials said.

OCALA, FL – Police say an alleged drunk driver was arrested after crashing into a dentist’s office in Ocala early Monday morning.

The Ocala Police Department released details of the incident in a Facebook post. Officers responded to Healthy Smiles Dentistry on SW 10th Street at about 12:30 a.m. after a Chevy Equinox first struck a vehicle in the roadway and then slammed into the building.  No one was injured.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 23-year-old Gabriel Hausy, was spotted fleeing from the officers on foot.  After a brief pursuit, Hausy was detained.

OCALA, FL – Ocala police are investigating an accident last week that left a motorcycle rider dead, the Ocala StarBanner reports.

The crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck occurred on Southwest 19th Avenue Road near 24th Avenue Tuesday night at about 8 p.m.

Investigators said the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck was headed east on Southwest 19th Avenue Road and entered the left lane to turn into a driveway for shopping and restaurants. The operator of a Suzuki motorcycle was going west in an inside lane and the vehicles collided, with the bike ending up underneath the pickup.

OCALA, FL – Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle collision in Ocala on Sunday afternoon.

Ocala Fire Rescue said Engine 5, Rescue 5, Tower 1, Battalion Chief 22, and a Safety Officer responded to the 2400 block of Northeast 49th Terrace shortly before 3 p.m.

Crews found a Nissan minivan and a Ford pickup truck with heavy front-end damage that were facing westbound on State Road 40.  Rescuers had to pry open the door of the minivan to extricate the driver.

MARION COUNTY, FL – State troopers said a man was killed in a pedestrian accident early Friday morning in Marion County, according to WKMG.

The Florida Highway Patrol released a report on the incident that happened in the area of SE Maricamp Road and Southeast Bahia Avenue Court at about 12:37 a.m.

According to the FHP, a man was in the outside lane of the roadway on Southeast Maricamp Road when he was struck by a sedan heading east.  The pedestrian, a 42-year-old man from Ocala, suffered fatal injuries.
